ABOUT ME
My name is Michael Labao. I am a grade 11 student at Transcona Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I love helping other kids feel better about themselves. I guess part of that happened because I was born with what they call disabilities. I don't think I have any because everyone is different and when you try your best you will succeed. Also if you give positive energy out you will get positive energy back that's what i did and that's how i came along this far. Yes it was hard for awhile but i tried hard and made it through.
You see I believe in myself and because I do, I want to help other kids believe in themselves. My parents were told that I would never walk, breathe on my own or have a good education. Well, that's not true. I learned to breathe on my own and to walk and I do very well in school. It took some work but I did it! Now I'm looking to going on to find a good career where I can be of service to others.
I decided I wanted to play soccer. To do that I needed to learn how to breathe on my own and to walk. It took me two and a half years to do this. There actually is a story written about me playing soccer. You can read it on the story page.
When I was in Grade Three, my music teacher taught me how to play the guitar. I love music and I love to play. I actually was part of a school garage band. We would jam at lunch hour and we played in the gym for a big gathering where everyone cheered us on. It was awesome!
My advise to you if you are wondering if you can do something:
JUST DO IT!
My first step forward was knowing that someone believed in me! Now you can help someone have that feeling too!
